A Swedish dramatic poet; born in Stockholm, March 2, 1828. He began life in a store, then turned to wig-making, and at last drifted to the stage. "The Wedding at Ulfasa", published in 1865, a historical piece; and "When You Have No Money", a comedy brought out in 1854 and afterwards rewritten, are typical of his talent. He has produced many plays, besides writing a history of the Swedish stage.
