So called from Roccha in Syria, where there was a manufactory of it. It is in pieces of the size of an almond, covered with a reddish efflorescence. Common Roche Alum, A. Rochi Gallis. Fragments of common alum moistened and shaken with prepared bole. It is white when broken.
