A Greek historian and rhetorician; born about 378 B. C. His principal historical works were "The Hellenics", in 12 books, and "The Philippics", in 58 books; the former being a continuation of Thucydides, and the latter a general history of his own times, with the reign of Philip of Macedon as central point: of both only fragments remain.
