A Hungarian lyric poet and folklorist; born in Kapos, Ung, April 1, 1814; died in Sarospatak, Jan. 23, 1868. He shows taste and feeling in a volume of miscellaneous "Poems" (1844), and great power as a prose stylist in "Legends and Popular Tales of Hungary" (1845-48).
