[Gr.] (Math.) More generally, a solid whose surface is generated by a straight line which moves so as always to pass through a fixed point, and to conform to some other condition, such as to pass through a given curve whose plane does not contain the point. The surfaces of these solids are often called Cones, though, strictly speaking, they are Conical surfaces.
